The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 define a confined space as
"any place, including any chamber, tank, vat,
silo, trench, pipe, sewer, flue well or other similar space in which, by its enclosed nature, there arises a
foreseeable risk".
- You are required to carry out a Risk Assessment to identify potential risks and provide your operatives
with a safe system for working within the confined space in accordance with the regulations
- Whilst Mabey Hire cannot prepare a risk assessment for you, we do provide gas detection equipment, an
important aspect of the requirements.
Gas detection equipment should be considered alongside other requirements such as Safe Access, Escape Sets
and Rescue resources
- Mabey Hire personnel have undergone specialist training on the operation and maintenance
of gas detectors
- Detailed user information will be supplied with the equipment
- Mabey Hire's gas detection equipment allows the detection of:
• Oxygen (deficiency and enrichment)
• Methane
• Hydrogen Sulphide
• Carbon Monoxide
